Our History

Global Health Missions is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded by two Physician Assistants, Ingrid and Christa, and an accountant, Laura. Ingrid and Christa had participated and organized several medical missions in the past to the Dominican Republic while they were attending PA school and as practicing PA's. In 2006 and 2007, Ingrid adopted two boys from Guatemala and during that time was lucky enough to live in Antigua Guatemala for 6 months. Although Guatemala is a lush and beautiful country, years of civil war left it paralyzed and debilitated in many ways. The need for medical care and public health education is enormous. In 2008 Ingrid and Christa organized their first trip to Panajachel, Guatemala; they have been going yearly ever since.
