global health missions volunteers
Ingrid Bedinotti-Ungerland - President While
attending Daemen College in Buffalo, NY, Ingrid worked as part of the organization Students With out Borders which provided multiple
medical clinics in the Dominican Republic. Ingrid and her husband Michael decided to start their family by
adopting beautiful little boys named Sam and Lucas from Guatelmala and along with many other families fell in love with the
country and the people.
Christa Switzer - Vice President Along with Ingrid, Christa started her involvement with international medical missions while
at Daemen College with the organization Students without Borders. Upon graduation, Christa continued to be involved
in the planning and execution of medical clinics while maintaining a full time position working as a Physician Assistant in
the Emergency Room. When Ingrid was planning to go to Guatemala this past December to volunteer in a medical clinic, she knew
Christa was the perfect person to ask to come along, and eventually form an organization dedicated to providing regular medical
care to those in Guatemala. She is also a wonderful aunt to Sam and Lucas.
Laura
Hernon - Treasurer Laura has also adopted
a beautiful son from Guatemala and subsequently became involed in giving back by volunteering with Helping Mayan Families.
Laura's talents as an organizer combined with her interest in helping provide healthcare made us rely more each
day. Laura made sure the clinics ran smoothly and efficently in the sometimes chaotic environment, and as a leader of the
group, she ensures future growth of this organization along with a being a great role model for future volunteers.
Laura has been essential in the formation of this organization; her ability to keep track of details makes her indispensible.
She is the perfect example of how important non-medical people can be to the success of clinics.
