Our Vision
According to the WHO (World Health Organization) the total population of Guatemala is about 13,029,000; the total life expectancy is 55 for males and 66 for females. The total expenditure on health as a percentage of the GDP is 4.8%- less than Sudan and Kenya. The total population living in poverty is 75%, 58% of the population lives in extreme poverty. GHM believes in the delivery of healthcare to those who live in poverty in third world countries; we think that although many people are born into and live in poverty, everyone deserves access to health care. Specifically our goal on medical missions is to see as many patients as we can in clinics; this includes a history and physical exam, medications or treatment as necessary and most importantly the gift of education.
